Our history
The Association des représentants de la mode du Québec (ARMQ) is an association that Unites apparel sales reps, agencies and other stakeholders that represent fashion brands from Québec and elsewhere around the world. Known under the acronym of ASM/MRV, the Association was founded in 1956 by representatives from Québec with a vision to foster synergy and mutual cooperation between retailers in the apparel industry as well as provide improved services for them to thrive.
For over 60 years, the Association addresses the needs of fashion retailers that specialize in apparel and accessories for women and men. Today, with our new brand image, which is 100% inclusive, and in order to better serve the needs of retailers, the Association brings together and represents all sectors of the fashion industry: Women’s, Men’s, Junior, Footwear, Jewellery, Accessories, etc.
As the industry’s driving force over the years, the Association’s main mission is to organize seasonal tradeshows as catalysts for business and knowledge sharing between members and retailers. Decade after decade, these tradeshows have been must-attend events for all decision makers in the fashion industry. They have gathered hundreds of the fashion industry’s main brands under one roof as well as attracted thousands of designers and buyers.
The ARMQ has recentered its efforts on member services. We will continue our unwavering commitment to Québec’s fashion industry as a proud partner of VOCA fashion events.
